PART 1: IDEA DEVELOPMENT

INTRO
“Man is the measure of all things”,this mindset makes humans see everything through their own perspective, believing they are the center of the world. That’s why humans often feel anxious, restless, and always searching for meaning.
PARAGRAPH
It’s this thinking that makes humans want to satisfy endless desires and see themselves as unshakable.I believe we need to understand our true place in nature. If we keep trying to conquer it, we’ll only create more disasters. That’s why I plan to design a work that reminds people that we are not the only ones in nature, and how nature is more diverse than us.
SUMMARY
This artwork is inspired by the idea that “Man is the measure of all things.” It reflects how humans often see the world through a self-centered lens, leading to endless desires, anxiety, and the need to control. But in reality, nature is far greater, more complex, and more diverse than us.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

This artwork is inspired by the idea that “Man is the measure of all things.” It reflects how humans often see the world through a self-centered lens, leading to endless desires, anxiety, and the need to control. But in reality, nature is far greater, more complex, and more diverse than us.
Through this piece, I aim to shift the focus back to the natural world. The composition highlights the richness of Earth’s ecosystems: oceans, forests, wildlife, while placing a human figure at the center not to dominate, but to reflect, to observe, and to learn humility.
This visual contrast reminds us that we are not above nature, but a part of it. Only when we recognize our true place can we begin to respect and protect the world around us.

Lock Screen Animation by using Adobe Photoshop

Reflection

At first I thought that animation needed to be done with very complex software, such as professional software like Adobe After Effects, but it turns out that Photoshop can also produce simple animations. After adding the time mark that should be on the lock screen, the picture looks more in line with the ideal picture of the lock screen design. In addition, adding a simple dynamic glow effect makes the work more refined, which makes me feel very accomplished.
