Reflection
Experience
This semester, I revisited the fundamentals of typesetting, and the introduction of common typesetting systems gave me a deeper understanding of the subject. Regarding font design, unlike last semester, this time I didn't simply create fonts, but rather drew unique fonts from the details of everyday objects. This experience will provide me with a solid creative process for future works, whether fonts or any other projects.
Observations
I've found that only after a well-designed font has been applied can it be truly evaluated from a perspective beyond just design, including its use on products or posters. Therefore, I believe that designing a font is not the end; it needs to be applied to a product to observe its performance for the design to be considered complete.
Findings
This semester I reviewed a lot of design fundamentals and became more proficient in using the software. I believe these fundamentals will lay the foundation for my aesthetic sense and contribute to my future design and aesthetic pursuits.
